      There is no doubt that the BRAVIA9 (XR90) is a mightily impressive Mini LED TV that employs some cutting-edge technology and image processing to push on the performance capabilities of LCD TVs, even for critical movie watching in dim rooms. The image quality on offer is superb when sat directly onto the TV with some of the best HDR image quality I have seen this year, thanks to superb blacks and stunning peak brightness of up to 2800 nits. Colours are accurate with life-like skin tones and, of course, stunning motion and video processing performance from the XR processor.

      The Bravia 9 is an excellent mini LED TV. As Sony demonstrated at the launch event, this TV performs really close to the BVM X3110 mastering monitor in professional mode. The colours are accurate, the whites and panel uniformity are amazing, the TV handles blacks and HDR with expertise, and the Audio is remarkable. When placed next to Bravia 8, the advantages of pixel-level control and higher contrast on OLEDs were quite clear, and not just in dark sequences. However, more often than not, you will be watching your TV in a bright well-lit room and in such settings, Bravia 9 can make everything else look dull. And unlike OLEDs, it can sustain high brightness in extended sequences, such as sports matches, without dimming the panel. And if you are not very particular about colour accuracy and prefer to enjoy content in boosted modes like Vivid and Standard, the scales further tilt in Bravia 9’s favour.

      I bought the 65-inch Sony Bravia 9 to replace my old Sony XBR-65X900F, and it’s easily the best upgrade I’ve ever made. I use the TV in a pretty unique way, it serves as the main display for my computer and gaming setup. It’s paired with my PlayStation 5 and a Sony STR-AN1000, and the whole system works flawlessly together. The picture quality is incredible. I decided against OLED because I was concerned about burn-in over the long term, so the Bravia 9’s Mini LED technology felt like the perfect balance. The black levels are outstanding, not quite OLED territory, but impressively close and a massive improvement over my previous TV. The 120Hz refresh rate makes a noticeable difference when using it as a monitor. Moving the mouse feels ultra-smooth, and gaming is incredibly fluid and responsive. On top of that, the color depth is stunning. The contrast is punchy, highlights are bright without being harsh, and colors truly pop in a way that makes everything look vibrant and immersive. I can’t say enough good things about this TV. If you’re looking for something at the top tier of performance, the Bravia 9 absolutely deserves a spot on your shortlist.

      Have this TV in 75 inch version in my office. Bravia 9 is the best in picture quality, ease of use and responsiveness. It outperforms everything that is on market when playing from Blue Ray quality content to broadcast TV channels. Wish I could get it for my living room in 98 inch variant. Nazar T.
