Berlin's IFA 2023 witnessed a groundbreaking announcement from AWOL Vision, the Florida-based audiovisual hardware company. At the grand event, AWOL Vision took the wraps off its Pro Series Triple Laser TV system, setting the stage for a new era in home entertainment. This innovative system combines state-of-the-art technology to deliver stunning visuals and immersive audio.

Triple Laser Visuals and Atmos Sound

The Pro Series Triple Laser TV system by AWOL Vision is designed to redefine your home theater experience. With its ultra-short-throw (UST) projectors, it can project breathtaking 150-inch Dolby Vision visuals on a suitable surface. But it doesn't stop there; this system also boasts integrated 36-watt Atmos sound, ensuring that every audio nuance is as impressive as the visuals.

AWOL Vision is no stranger to pushing boundaries. Founded in 2020, the company has made waves in the audiovisual industry. It introduced its first UST triple-laser projector in June, followed by the innovative Vanish Laser TV in September. The Vanish Laser TV combines a rollable projection screen and a 4K triple-laser projector, elegantly concealed within a smart cabinet.

UST Projector Excellence

At the heart of this remarkable system is the UST projector, a technological marvel in its own right. It features separate lasers for red, green, and blue output, delivering 3,500 lumens of brightness and stunning 4K UHD visuals. Remarkably, it can project these visuals up to a colossal 150 diagonal inches, all from a mere 20 inches away. The projector supports HDR10+ and HLG content, ensuring that you experience every scene with unmatched clarity and depth.

Pro Series Evolution

AWOL Vision's IFA 2023 appearance introduced two new UST projectors, available both individually and as part of the Vanish TV system. The LTV-3000 Pro and LTV-3500 Pro models share the capability to project visuals ranging from 80 to 150 inches at a maximum resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. Each projector features an F2.0 aperture glass lens developed by Ricoh. Engineers at AWOL Vision have even optimized the firmware, resulting in a 2.5x contrast improvement over previous models, with the firmware update rolling out to current LTV-2500 and LTV-3500 units via an over-the-air update.

Smart Integration and Enhanced Viewing

One of the standout features of the Pro series is its integration with Control4 smart home systems, thanks to the PJLink IP control protocol. This integration streamlines the control and management of these high-end projectors within the household, offering a seamless user experience. Additionally, both models in the series now support Dolby Vision, enhancing the viewing experience with breathtaking visuals, vibrant colors, and unparalleled realism.

Specs and Features

While the full specs are available for the LTV-3500 Pro model, the primary difference between the two models seems to be their brightness output, with model names indicating lumens achieved. Both models support 107% of the wide BT.2020 color gamut and 147% of DCI-P3, in addition to HDR10+/HLG content. The projectors accept source content at 24 frames per second for cinematic movie viewing and come equipped with three HDMI 2.0b ports for seamless connectivity to media devices.

For gamers, there's a Game Mode that reduces input lag to an impressive 15 milliseconds for 4K gaming at 60 Hz or 8 ms for 1080p at 120 Hz. Connectivity options include 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for streaming, with an Amazon Fire TV stick included in the bundle. As for audio, the Pro Series projectors feature a built-in 36-Watt sound system with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio support.

What Lies Ahead

As of now, there's no official word on pricing or availability, but the unveiling at IFA 2023 signifies AWOL Vision's expansion into the European market. To provide a reference point, the LTV-2500 UST laser projector is priced at $2999, the LTV-3500 Pro is priced at $5999 while the Vanish Laser TV system featuring the LTV-3500 projector (not the new Pro) starts at $14,999. As AWOL Vision continues to push the boundaries of home entertainment technology, the Pro Series Triple Laser TV system promises a captivating future for home theater enthusiasts.
