Today, June 30, 2025, marks a decade since Apple Music launched. To commemorate this milestone, Apple is introducing several new features and initiatives. These include "Replay All Time," a playlist designed to showcase a user's most streamed music since their subscription began, a new countdown of the top 500 most-streamed songs, and the opening of a dedicated "global hub for artists" in Los Angeles.
Replay All Time: A Decade of Listening History
Apple Music is introducing Replay All Time, a new iteration of its annual Replay feature. This playlist provides a comprehensive view of a subscriber's most played songs across their entire subscription history. For users who joined Apple Music at its inception in June 2015, this playlist will encapsulate their listening habits over the past ten years.
Unlike the yearly Replay playlists, which only became available in 2019, Replay All Time offers a consolidated and more extensive historical record. The new playlist is expected to be accessible from the Home tab within the Music app. While the initial announcement doesn't specify if this playlist will be a permanent or limited-time offering, its design suggests a dynamic list that could continuously update to reflect ongoing listening data.
Top 500 Most-Streamed Songs: A Retrospective Countdown
In addition to personalized listening data, Apple Music Radio will present a countdown of the service's top 500 most-streamed songs from the last decade. This countdown is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 1, with 100 songs revealed daily. The top 100 most-streamed songs will be unveiled on Saturday, July 5. Following the completion of the countdown, the full list of 500 songs will be compiled into a new playlist titled "10 Years of Apple Music: Top Songs," available for streaming.
A New Global Hub for Artists in Los Angeles
Reinforcing the importance of live-hosted radio and artist support, Apple is launching a new "global hub for artists" in Los Angeles. This three-story, 15,000-square-foot facility is designed to serve as a creative campus, providing resources for content creation and collaboration. The hub's features include:
-
Two advanced radio studios: These studios are equipped with Spatial Audio playback capabilities and adaptable configurations suitable for various recording needs, including live interviews, casual discussions, or impromptu musical performances.
-
A 4,000-square-foot soundstage: This area is intended for live performances, multi-camera video shoots, fan engagement events, and screenings.
-
A dedicated Spatial Audio mixing room: This room is outfitted with a 9.2.4 PMC speaker system, designed for advanced sound production.
-
A photo and social media lab, edit room, and green room: These spaces are integrated to facilitate real-time content creation and support artists' digital presence.
-
Private isolation booths: These booths are designed for songwriting, podcast recording, and one-on-one interviews, offering a secluded environment for creative work.
-
The A-List Corridor and Archive Corridor: These areas feature visual displays of images and artwork, showcasing notable moments and artists from Apple Music's history.
This Los Angeles studio aims to foster creativity and connection within the artist community. It represents an expansion of Apple Music's commitment to supporting artists by providing infrastructure for new forms of content creation and fan engagement. This facility will anchor a global network of creative hubs, supplementing existing locations in cities such as New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris, and Nashville, with plans for additional studios in the future.
Rachel Newman, Apple Music's co-head, stated that the new studio reinforces Apple Music Radio's role as a platform for storytelling and artistry, providing a space for artists to create, connect, and share their vision.
Special Programming on Apple Music Radio
To further celebrate its 10th anniversary, Apple Music Radio will broadcast a week of special programming and live events.
The celebratory broadcasts commence on June 30 with "Don't Be Boring: The Birth of Apple Music Radio with Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden," airing from 6 to 8 a.m. PST. This segment will feature Zane Lowe, Ebro Darden, and guest appearances, who will discuss the evolution of Apple Music Radio from its early days to its current artist-led shows.
Following this, an "10 Years of Apple Music" special will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. PST. This eight-hour broadcast on Apple Music 1 is designed to highlight significant artist moments, exclusive releases, live events, and cultural milestones facilitated by Apple Music over the past decade.
The day's programming will conclude with "Live: 10 Years Of Apple Music," from 4 to 7 p.m. PST. This live broadcast, hosted by Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden, will feature artists who have influenced the service's trajectory. Listeners can access these broadcasts via apple.co/_Radio.
Zane Lowe reflected on the launch of Beats 1, the predecessor to Apple Music Radio, describing it as a "leap of faith" to create a global live radio station for a digital audience. He emphasized the intention to build a platform where artists could share their stories and fans could feel connected to the music.
These initiatives mark Apple Music's decade of operation by combining historical retrospectives with new infrastructure designed to support future artistic endeavors and enhance the listener experience.
