I might not know with 100% certainty if the Mojo 2 is the best-sounding DAC at its price point but it’s certainly up there with the very best of them. However, on functional versatility, it is unsurpassed. And it’s that top-tier audible performance combined with a heavy dose of go-anywhere usability that makes it Darko.Audio’s Best DAC of 2022.
I take my hat off to Rob Watts and Chord Electronics for the way that they have managed to incorporate sophisticated equalisation into the Mojo 2 without compromising its excellent sound quality. Add to that this all metal and impressively well finished little device is made in the UK for a price that competes with the best in the business and you have a bona fide winner.
The Chord Electronics Mojo 2 stock sound feels more accurate and energetic compared to the V1. The new UHD DSP suite is seamless in terms of having no impact on dynamic range and a lack of volume attenuation.
The Chord Mojo 2 improves on the previous model in almost every single way. It more than makes up for the wait with its stellar sound signature and innovative internal design. Its more neutral timbre combined with an impressive level of depth makes its output far more dynamic than ever before, increasing its sonic capabilities and reach to a wider assortment of listeners. In terms of downsides, the lack of any other headphone input that isn’t 3.5mm is a bit of a disappointment, but with the proper adapters, this shouldn’t be much of an issue. Overall, the Mojo 2 was well worth the wait and I wait to see what new innovations Chord has in store for the future.
The Chord Mojo 2 is near the top of the pyramid with things like the Centrance M8v2, but it also sits near the top in price which will keep it from selling as widely as it might otherwise
The Chord Electronic’s Mojo 2 and its Poly streaming partner are a formidable partnership for anyone that is looking for a flexible way of getting the most out of their music, whether at home or on the go.
The user experience is a little way off the very best and Gofigure app helps, but it could benefit from a few more features to make it truly competitive, plus better Bluetooth support. Overall though, for a high-quality DAC and streamer that’s portable, flexible and smaller than your phone, the Mojo/Poly combination comes highly recommended.
Chord added significant features and acted on critiques of the original product. Better battery management, a USB-c port, and DSP controls are tangible improvements. For those that use them, the new features are unquestionably a reason to upgrade. The Mojo 2 has improved clarity, tonality, and impact over its forerunner. It sounds natural and ‘high-end,’ and yes, it simply does sound better. The Mojo 2 is a subtle step up from the first Mojo.
Chord’s Mojo2 is so far one of the best all-in-one units we’ve tried at €600 and as such, it’s my pleasure awarding it with our highest Gold Award. Congratulations to the team and I’m looking forward to Watts coming next!
With the Mojo 2 Chord Electronics has an awesome and small all-in-one package that will please a lot of personal audio fans. The DSP functions and tuning options are really nice, but even without those activated, the Mojo 2 sounds absolutely impressive.
A terrifically engaging listening experience, the Chord Mojo 2 works its magic to elevate what you’re listening to. It makes everything from a Spotify stream to Hi-res file sound much better and functions as a great upgrade for any audio system.
