Product Description:

  • Topology Diaphragm: diaphragm featuring a special Nano particle coating applied to its surface. The idea behind the new Topology Diaphragm was inspired by Dr Fang Bian's Ph.D. thesis that "different Nano materials have differing structures and each of those materials have its own properties". Therefore, by carefully controlling the diaphragm surface structure you can yield different results in acoustic performance to a degree previously unobtainable.
  • Best-sounding 50mm Dynamic Driver: High sensitivity thanks to HIFIMAN’s use of a rare earth magnet; Advanced voice coil; Topology diaphragm for detailed high frequency response to 30kHz.
  • Form Follows Function: CNC carving art of wood and aviation aluminum. The wooden ear cup’s large internal space brings sufficient volume and “breathing room” to the powerful driver.
  • Easily Switch Between Wired and Wireless: ? Wired: Traditional wired 3.5mm input; With 3.5mm to 6.35mm connector?BlueMini-Bluetooth: A variety of HD Bluetooth protocol ?USB: USB DAC via USB-C cable
  • Cables: The HE-R10D package includes three detachable cables with three different jacks: one cable with 3.5mm jack, one cable with XLR balanced jack and one cable with ¼” (6.35mm) jack.

It’s clear the company is going to make more dynamic drivers for a variety of price points, but they have not sacrificed audio quality with the R10D. I continue to have some reservations about the smoothness of the middle frequencies, which do not sound as smooth as comparably priced headphones from the same company. It may be the response curves of dynamic drivers versus planars, but whatever it is to my ears, especially on acoustic instruments, the mid-range needs some tweaking. The Bluetooth connectivity is most welcome, freeing listeners from the headphone cord while giving away little of ultimate sound quality.
